RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the bid proposals submitted for the Americans with Disabilities Curb Ramp Improvements Project (Phase 2);
2. Award the project agreement to RAO Construction Co. Inc. for the total amount of $1,267,267;
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement with RAO Construction Co. Inc. upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and
4. Authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $75,863.

DISCUSSION:
On April 26, 2022, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors authorized the Clerk of the Board to advertise the Americans with Disabilities Curb Ramp Improvements Project (Phase 2) for bids. On May 24, 2022, the County of Humboldt received three (3) bids for the project, which are attached hereto as Attachment 1.

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of Supervisors: receive and file the bid proposals submitted for the Americans with Disabilities Curb Ramp Improvements Project (Phase 2); award the attached project agreement to RAO Construction Co., Inc., for the total amount of $1,267,267; authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $75,863.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The contract bid amount is $1,267,267. The total project cost is estimated at $1,525,000. The Americans with Disabilities Curb Ramp Improvements Project (Phase 2) is being funded by the Humboldt County Road Fund in the amount of $228,000 and $1,297,000 from the 2020 Finan...
