RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Director, or a designee thereof, to execute, the State Standard Agreement 22-10648 between the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the County of Humboldt for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027 in the amount of $3,728,023; and
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments, and any other agreements, certifications, attestations, and documents directly related, to the attached State Standard Agreement, after review and approval by County Counsel, and Risk Management.

DISCUSSION:
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) - Public Health has participated in the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Emergency Preparedness and Response Grant to improve and expand Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Hospital Preparedness Programs in Humboldt County since 2002. Grant funds are used to assist DHHS - Public Health, hospitals and other health care facilities with their efforts in response planning, obtaining needed equipment, training staff, and testing their emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Agreement 22-10648 provides funding for the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program, the State General Fund Pandemic Influenza Program, and the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Hospital Preparedness Program. The term of this agreement is from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2027 for a total of $3,728,023.
