RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Ratify Change Order 2 in the amount of $10,870.37 and a time extension of 21 days for the Garberville Public Health ADA Modification Project (4/5 Vote Required);
2. Accept the work of Adams Commercial General Contracting, Inc. as complete for the Garberville Public Health ADA Modification Project; and
3. Authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign the Notice of Completion for the project.

DISCUSSION:
On September 7, 2016, the county entered into a consent decree with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) that required the commencement of the Humboldt County Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Project. The purpose of the Humboldt County Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Project is to bring all county-owned and leased facilities that provide programs, services or activities to the public into compliance with the ADA. This project illustrates the county's continued commitment toward access barrier removal at its facilities.

On January 25, 2022, your Board authorized staff to award the Garberville Public Health ADA Modification Project to Adams Commercial General Contracting, Inc. (ACGC) of Eureka, California for the base bid amount of $187,950. The construction project renovated and removed barriers to access in the single user restrooms making one fully ADA compliant, reconstructed three service counters, replaced the front door and reconstructed the parking lot with one ADA accessible van parking stall and a compliant path of travel linking the facility to the pedestrian right of way as well as the newly constructed Garbe...
