RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Retroactively approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff to execute and the Clerk of the Board to attest to the attached Agreement with the City of Blue Lake regarding law enforcement services in the amount of $327,670 for the period of Nov. 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024;
2. Retroactively approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff to execute and the Clerk of the Board to attest to the attached Agreement with the City of Trinidad regarding law enforcement services in the amount of $327,670 for the period of Nov. 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024;
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board and Sheriff to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached Agreements with City of Blue Lake and City of Trinidad after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office;
4. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one fully executed original copy of the attached Agreements with the City of Blue Lake and the City of Trinidad to the Sheriff's Office for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
The City of Blue Lake (since 2008) and the City of Trinidad (since 2011) ("cities") has contracted with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) to provide law enforcement services to the incorporated areas of their respective city. Due to staffing challenges, HCSO was unable to maintain the level of coverage provided in the most recent agreements and therefore the agreements were in a month-to-month status while the parties discussed the current needs versus the current staffin...
