RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the completed contracts, including all change orders approved by the Public Works Department, between Mercer-Fraser Company and Humboldt County for construction of the McCann Bridge (04C-0172) Preventive Maintenance and McCann Road (6D090) Post Mile 1.25 Storm Damage Repair Project; and
2. Approve the final claims for payment, to be submitted by the Public Works Department to the Auditor/Controller, in the amounts of Eight Hundred Ninety-Two Dollars and Twenty Cents ($892.20) for McCann Bridge (04C-0172) Preventive Maintenance and One Thousand One Hundred Three Dollars and Sixty-One Cents ($1,103.61) for McCann Road (6D090) Post Mile 1.25 Storm Damage Repair, which will bring the total amount paid to 100% of the contracts.

DISCUSSION:
The McCann Bridge (04C-0172) Preventive Maintenance and McCann Road (6D090) Post Mile 1.25 Storm Damage Repair Project is located along the main stem of the Eel River approximately six (6) miles east of Highway 101 off Dyerville Loop Road.

The community of McCann uses the low-level McCann Bridge (04C-0172) to access rural properties and residences during times of low flow for about six (6) to nine (9) months of the year. A ferry operated by the County of Humboldt is used for access when the Eel River rises above the McCann Bridge (04C-0172).
