This project represents Phase II of the McKay Community Forest and would expand the size of the publicly-owned forest by 20 percent, to nearly 1,200 acres. The project would protect headwaters areas and tributaries to Ryan Creek, a major tributary to Humboldt Bay and a regionally important coho salmon-bearing stream.
