RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and authorize the Sheriff to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Recology Humboldt County for emergency collection services and debris removal

DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this MOU is to provide disaster-related debris management and collection services for Humboldt County during instances of natural and man-made disaster events including but not limited to earthquakes, fires, and floods. This agreement formalizes the response relationship between Recology Humboldt County and the County of Humboldt so that Recology Humboldt can be fully integrated into response and recovery efforts in future disasters.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Narrative Explanation of Financial Impact:
At this time there are no anticipated costs associated with the approval of this MOU, as the proposed agreement will be utilized only in the event of an emergency requiring the utilization of debris removal and collection services. County procurement procedures will be followed to establish financial rates and terms at the time services are needed.
