DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Audit Committee will have a vacancy for an At Large member due to the term expiration of member Corey Weber on April 6, 2023.
A Notice of Vacancy has been posted per the Board of Supervisors Protocol. A separate agenda item will be brought back to the Board on May 2, 2023 for the consideration of appointment to fill the vacancy.

All appointed members will be required to comply with the California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirement as well as completing AB1234 Ethics training every 2 years.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact to posting a vacancy. However, the Audit Committee holds an oversight role in the county’s annual audits, which examine the county’s spending each year. In addition, the Audit Committee’s charter authorizes this body to expend up to $50,000 each year to carry out certain responsibilities related to its mission. Audit Committee members do not receive per diem or mileage reimbursement for travel.
