DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Resources Conservation District (HCRCD) is a special district established under Division 9 of the California Resource code to work with private landowners to conserve and protect natural resources on private land in the county. Under Division Section 9317, seven members of the HDRCD Board are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to staggering 4-year terms.

On Nov. 25, 2022, there were three members that had a term expiration. They were Zach Cahill, Daniel Cohoon and Ryan Rice. A notice of vacancy was posted per the Board of Supervisors protocol. Zach Cahill and Daniel Cohoon were both reappointed on January 10, 2023. A vacancy was posted for the empty seat.

Executive Director Jill Demers has sent a letter dated March 9, 2023, recommending the new appointment of Reid Cody for the current vacancy.

The term would expire on November 30, 2026

This is an At-Large appointment, and it is at the Board's discretion.
