Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Authorize the Director of Library Services to execute the agreement by and between County of Humboldt and College of the Redwoods, for free adult education instruction.

DISCUSSION:
Humboldt County Library and the College of the Redwoods Adult and Community Education are partnering to provide free workforce development and job skills classes in the Eureka Library's large meeting room. In addition, College of the Redwoods will be using the Eureka Library's Periodicals Room for American Sign Language classes. These classes provide learning opportunities and training for American Sign Language, communication, and workforce skills. There is no charge to the College of the Redwoods for use of the rooms associated with the aforementioned classes.
These classes support the Library's mission statement, "we strengthen our community by educating inspiring, and connecting people."
Offering these classes support the Library's values:
* Community- Provide opportunities for people to join together and participate in the life of our community
* Learning - Promote learning, literacy, and innovation
* Inclusiveness - Make cultural and intellectual resources available in an environment that reflects diversity or the community and individual learning styles and abilities
