RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors:

1.                     Adopt the Resolution and direct the Clerk of the Board to return a fully executed copy of the resolution to Six Rivers Running Club.

DISCUSSION:

The Six Rivers Running Club is planning its 51st Annual Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K run on May 7, 2023. The resolution authorizing road closures for the marathon is the first step in the running club’s permitting process. The club is asking that the Board of Supervisors adopt the attached resolution.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The attached resolution is required to be approved prior to issuing permits to close roads and control traffic on county roads and state highways. Staffing costs for Public Works to close roads and control traffic for this event are included in permit fees paid by the applicant. Those costs and revenues were included in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Adopted Budget.
