RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached memorandum of understanding with Redwood Parks Conservancy regarding cooperation in accomplishing conservation-related work in Humboldt County; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed original copy of the attached memorandum of understanding with Redwood Parks Conservancy to Sal Munoz, Development Director, at sal@redwoodparks.org.

DISCUSSION:
Redwood Parks Conservancy is a community development and conservation nonprofit established to foster understanding, enjoyment and stewardship of public lands through educational outreach, visitor services and support of partners entrusted with the care of public lands along California's north coast.

The attached memorandum of understanding with Redwood Parks Conservancy will further foster cooperation between the County of Humboldt and Redwood Parks Conservancy to accomplish conservation-related work in Humboldt County by: allowing for the provision of information regarding potential funding opportunities for programs in Humboldt County, the application process and documentation required; furthering training and experience for future public land management employment; and furthering the understanding and appreciation of natural and cultural resources through the involvement of youth, adults, disabled and veterans in the care and enhancement of public resources.
