DISCUSSION:
An effort is underway to designate a portion of State Highway 101 from postmile marker 95 to postmile marker 97 near Moonstone Beach as the Humboldt County Supervisor Sam Merryman Memorial Highway in memory of Sam Merryman who passed away on May 13, 2010. Mr. Merryman was a dedicated servant to his community and many organizations and foundations. He was a fierce advocate for his county, a philanthropist and highly valued and supported many educational institutions. The Board of Supervisors is sending a resolution and letter of support for this effort.
