DISCUSSION:
At the Dec. 13, 2022, Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was notified that there was an At-Large vacancy on the Humboldt County Assessment Appeals Board due to the term expiration of Greg Anderson. The vacancy was posted, and applications were accepted.
Greg Anderson has requested to be reappointed and he is the only application on file. Greg has been serving on the Assessment Appeals Board since 2004. This appointment would be a 4-year term with an expiration date of Jan. 10, 2027.
Please note that there has been a vacancy for alternate on the Board for over a year.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact to making an appointment to the Assessment Appeals Board.
STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:
This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by providing community-appropriate levels of service
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None
ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board could choose to postpone the appointment to allow time for additional applications, however this is not recommended because there is an additional vacancy for an alternate that has existed for some time. Without this appointment there could be a quorum issue for upcoming meetings.
