RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the Professional Service Agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods in the amount of $177,000 for the term of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Director (DHHS - Public Health), or a designee thereof, to execute the agreement;
3. Authorize the DHHS - Public Health Director, or designee thereof, to approve all future amendments and documents directly related to this agreement upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management;
4. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) copy of the certified board report to the DHHS - Contract Unit.

DISCUSSION:
Friday Night Live and Club Live programs are youth-serving after school clubs that provide youth with social networks, peer support, leadership skills, and substance use resiliency skills. These clubs are youth-driven, action oriented, and culturally competent. These clubs will occur at Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods locations in Humboldt County.
On March 24, 2022, DHHS - Public Health issues Request for Proposals (RFP) No. DHHS 2022-02, which solicited proposals from qualified organizations to provide Friday Night Live services. DHHS - Public Health received zero responses to RFP No. DHHS 2022-02. At that point, staff began recruiting local organizations to perform the Friday Night Live services. Boys and Girls Club was able and willing.
