RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the bid proposals submitted for Storm Damage Repair to Elk Creek Road at Post Mile 0.95-2.42;
2. Award the project agreement to Van Meter Logging, Inc., for the total amount of $2,388,398;
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the project agreement upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and
4. Authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $131,920.

DISCUSSION:
On Sept. 20, 2022, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors authorized the Clerk of the Board to advertise Storm Damage Repair to Elk Creek Road at Post Mile 0.95-2.42 for bids. On Oct. 25, 2022, the County of Humboldt received four (4) bids for the project, which are attached hereto as Attachment 1.
The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of Supervisors: receive and file the bid proposals submitted for Storm Damage Repair to Elk Creek Road at Post Mile 0.95-2.42; award the attached project agreement to Van Meter Logging, Inc., for the total amount of $2,388,398; authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $131,920.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Storm Damage Repair to Elk Creek Road at Post Mile 0.95-2.42 is being funded by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Emergency Relief Funds (88.53%) and the Humboldt County Road Fund (11.47%).
