DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Resource Conservation District (HCRCD) is a special district established under Division 9 of the California Resource code to work with private landowners to conserve and protect natural resources on private land in the county. Under Division Section 9317, seven members of the HCRCD Board are appointed by the Board fo Supervisors to staggering four-year terms.
On November 25, 2022, there are three current members that will have an expired term. They include Zach Cahill, Daniel Cohoon and Ryan Rice.
A notice of vacancy has been posted per the Board of Supervisors protocol. A separate agenda item will be brought back on December 20 for the consideration of appointment to fill the vacancies. Please note that there is also a current vacancy that can be considered at that date. Therefore, there are four total vacancies as seen on the attached roster.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact to posting vacancies.
