That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the recommendation to fund the grant application in the amount of $4,918.

DISCUSSION:
On Aug. 4, 2022, the Human Rights Commission (HRC) passed a motion to adopt the following language. “The Humboldt County Human Right Commission approves the recommendation of the Human Trafficking Committee, to grant $4,918 to Empower, Protect, Invest (EPI) to provide continued hotline coverage and community outreach and training as needed.
The HRC recommends your Board approve the dispersal of these funds through the Humboldt Area Foundation, in the amount of $4,918, for the use as described on the attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Humboldt Area Foundation has established a Human Trafficking Fund of $20,000. Funding for the EPI application would be for $4,918 of that fund. There is no impact to the General Fund.
