RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the donation of a 20' Cargo Mate trailer with Generator, two 16' Cargo Mate trailers, and various Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training and emergency response supplies.

DISCUSSION:
The Fire Services Training Institute partnered with the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to donate trailers and other emergency response equipment/supplies in support of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs). The full list of items can be found attached to this Board item (Attachment 1). The items were purchased by the Fire Services Training Institute and donated.

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) of Emergency Services currently sponsors two CERTs in Humboldt County and will maintain the three donated trailers and associated supplies for use by CERT members and other field response personnel during local emergencies.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The total value of the donated equipment/supplies is $136,314.20. The three donated trailers are considered fixed assets. HCSO will provide the necessary information to the Auditor- Controller's Office as part of the annual inventory verification to record these assets. Any ongoing maintenance costs of the donated trailers and equipment will be funded by budget 1100-221800 or grant funds if available.
