RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Direct the Registrar of Voters to conduct the general municipal election and special election for City of Trinidad;
2. Consolidate these elections with the General Election to be held on November 8, 2022;
3. Direct City of Trinidad to reimburse the County of Humboldt for costs incurred pursuant to Resolution No. 2022-07 and Resolution No. 2022-10; and,
4. Request the Clerk of the Board forward the signed Board Order and copy of City of Trinidad Resolution No. 2022-07 and Resolution No. 2022-10 to the Humboldt County Office of Elections.

DISCUSSION:
On May 10, 2022, the City of Trinidad passed Resolution No. 2022-07 for the purpose of electing certain officers. One June 14, 2022, the City of Trinidad passed Resolution No. 2022-10 for the purpose of submitting to the electors a measure to increase the tourist occupancy tax ("TOT") from eight percent (8%) to twelve percent (12%). Further, Resolution 2022-07 and Resolution 2022-10 request the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors consolidate the municipal and special elections with the General Election to be held on November 8, 2022, directs county election officials to conduct the necessary election, and states that City of Trinidad agrees to reimburse the county for all costs associated with the general municipal election and special election.

The question to be submitted to the voters shall read:
