DISCUSSION:
The “open air dealing” of drugs in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco (SF) is causing an environment in which drugs can be easily located, transported, sold, and distributed with no repercussions up and down the state and specifically, Humboldt County. San Francisco has become the hub for the purchase of drugs, specifically for the purchase of fentanyl. The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors strongly recommends that the SF District Attorney’s office support the efforts of the SF police department and prosecute the dealers that have taken over the City and County of San Francisco. It is crucial that this drug haven be dismantled, and the dealers be prosecuted to the full extent of the law in order to prevent another person from needlessly dying from this horrible drug.
