Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Select a candidate to fill the CMSP Governing Board - County Supervisor Position for Group 2 Counties, and forward the completed ballot to Shaw/Yoder/Antwih/Schmelzer/Lange.

DISCUSSION:
CMSP is holding a special election to fill the vacancy on its Board for the remaining term of the Group 2 Supervisor seat previously held by Shasta County Supervisor Leonard Moty. The Term will begin March 15, 2022 and end Dec. 31, 2022. Group 2 Counties include Butte, El Dorado, Humboldt, Imperial, Kings, Madera, Mendocino, Shasta, Sutter, Tehama, Yolo and Yuba.
The CMSP Governing Board has directed Shaw Yoder Antwih Schmelzer and Lange to conduct the election on behalf of the CMSP Board. Yolo County Supervisor Oscar Villegas is the sole candidate for the position. However, space on the ballot has been provided for write-in candidates should others wish to compete for the position. Humboldt County is being asked to support candidate Supervisor Oscar Villegas or submit a write-in candidate on the ballot.
