DISCUSSION:

Attached is a letter from the Planning Commission requesting that the Board of Supervisors provide guidance on concerns relative to cannabis permitting.  Each of the areas of concerns has requests associated with the concern.  The letter from the Planning Commission includes specific questions for the Board of Supervisors to provide guidance about.  It is recommended that the Board review the letter and provide responses to the questions posed by the Planning Commission.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The financial impact will be dependent upon direction by the Board of Supervisors.  There is little financial impact to the department’s budget from continued actions by the Planning Commission.  The department is already undertaking work on addressing well permitting requirements.  Any other action to create new or revised policy or ordinance changes will require staff time to create and process.  This would come out of the Advanced Planning budget (1100282).

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:

This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by enforcing laws and regulations to protect residents
