DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors is the governing and appointing body for the First Five Commission. As such, the board has received a request from the Executive Director to reappoint Lorey Keele and Connie Sundberg to the First Five Commission. The appointments are for three-year terms with an expiration date of Nov. 16, 2024.
Per the Board of Supervisors Protocol for Board of Supervisor Appointments approved on March 23, 2021, Section 4, Exhibit 1, there are exceptions to the protocol that allow for only one agenda item under “consent” be brought before the Board of Supervisors by the Clerk of the Board based on applications, recommendations by a district Supervisor, recommendation by the Committee, Commission or Board, or for various other reasons.
Appointments/reappointments to the First Five Humboldt commission meets the exception criteria of the Board’s protocol listed above.
