RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached professional services agreement with Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods regarding implementation of the SMART Moves, SMART Girls and Passport to Manhood programs in an amount not to exceed $72,000 for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached professional services agreement with Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office;
3. Find that issuing an advance payment to Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods for the provision of the program implementation services required pursuant to the terms and conditions of the attached professional services agreement will serve a public purpose by ensuring continuity of support services provided to youth residing in Humboldt County;
4. Authorize issuance of an advance payment in the amount of $72,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods for the provision of the program implementation services required pursuant to the terms and conditions of the attached professional services agreement for the period of July 1,2021 through June 30, 2022; and
5. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one fully executed original copy of the attached professional services agreement with Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for further processing.
