That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the reappointment of the Jenna Catsos to the Headwaters Fund Board.

DISCUSSION:
With money gained from the acquisition of the Headwaters Forest Preserve by state and federal governments, the Headwaters Fund invests in projects through grants and loans with the goal of helping citizens of Humboldt County achieve increased economic opportunity, prosperity, and quality of life. The HFB was established by the Board of Supervisors in 2003 and acts as an advisory body to your Board with regards to these funds.
At the June 8, 2021 meeting, the HFB voted to recommend Ms. Jenna Catsos for a term of 3 years. Ms. Catsos was initially appointed in 2019 for a term of two years. HFB members are eligible to serve a total of 8 years. The years are broken down into an initial two-year term followed by the three-year terms,
Pursuant to Section 8.b of the HFB Manual “The HFB shall make recommendations for reappointment to the Board of Supervisors who may then accept or reject the re-appointment by a majority vote. In the event a recommendation for re-appointment is rejected by the Board of Supervisors, the seat shall be deemed vacant at the expiration of the term and the selection process as described in Section 5 shall commence.”
The HFB is recommending that your Board vote to reappoint member Jenna Catsos for a term ending in July 2024.
