RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the deallocation of 1.0 full-time equivalent Information Technician II position (class 0189, salary range 432) in budget unit 3550-118 to be effective the pay period following Board approval; and
2. Approve the allocation of 1.0 full-time equivalent Information Technology Systems Supervisor position (class 0645, salary range 468) in budget unit 3550-118 to be effective the pay period following Board approval.

DISCUSSION:
In recent years, the County of Humboldt's use of, and reliance upon, technology has substantially increased. Thus, the responsibilities and functions required of the Information Technology Systems Supervisor have increased in both volume and breadth. In addition to supervising Information Technology Technicians and Systems Administrators, the Information Technology Systems Supervisor is responsible for managing, coordinating and facilitating hardware deployments, telephony, network operations and user support. As a result, the Information and Technology Division is requesting the deallocation of 1.0 full-time equivalent Information Technology Technician II position (class 0189, salary range 432) and the allocation of 1.0 full-time equivalent Information Technology Systems Supervisor position (class 0645, salary range 468) in budget unit 3550-118 to be effective the pay period following Board approval.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
