RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached professional services agreement with Seventh Generation House, Inc. regarding the provision of outpatient substance use disorder treatment, transitional housing and counseling services in an amount not to exceed $100,000 for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Child Welfare Services Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached professional services agreement with Seventh Generation House, Inc. after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one fully executed original copy of the attached professional services agreement with Seventh Generation House, Inc. to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services - Child Welfare Services (DHHS - Child Welfare Services) utilizes the System of Care approach to provide outpatient treatment and transitional housing services to Humboldt County residents who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder. Such an approach is essential in providing effective strategies for parents and youth to achieve safety, permanency and well-being.
