RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution approving a list of projects to be funded by California Senate Bill 1 - The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 - for fiscal year 2021-2022; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed certified copy of the attached resolution to the Department of Public Works for submission to the California Department of Transportation.

California Senate Bill 1 - The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017
DISCUSSION:
California Senate Bill 1 ("SB 1") - The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 - approved Fifty-Four Billion Dollars ($54,000,000,000) over the next decade to repair roads, freeways, and bridges throughout the State of California. As part of the accountability guidelines for receiving SB 1 funds, local agencies must submit an approved list of proposed projects to the California Department of Transportation prior to receiving an apportionment of funds from the State Controller. The list of projects proposed to be financed with SB 1 funds shall include a description of each proposed project, a schedule for each project's completion and an estimated useful life of the improvements.
The Humboldt County Department of Public Works ("Public Works") estimates that the County of Humboldt's allocation of SB 1 funds for fiscal year 2021-2022 will be approximately Five Million One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($5,180,000). The total cost of the projects proposed to be financed with SB 1 funds for fiscal year 2021-2022 exceeds the estimated allocation of SB l revenue.
