RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors:

1.                     Approve the donation of a Dodge Ram 1500 truck to Motor Pool for capitalization, maintenance and insurance purposes.

Body

SOURCE OF FUNDING

ADA Internal Service Fund (3552)

DISCUSSION:

The County Administrative Office, ADA Compliance team, purchased a truck to be used by the ADA Carpenters when performing ADA barrier removal at county facilities. On Aug. 18, 2020, your Board approved establishing a fixed asset line and supplemental budget for this purchase. For the purposes of capitalization, maintenance and insurance, the ADA Compliance team would like to donate the Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck to Motor Pool.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Mileage rates are unknown at this time. The ADA Compliance ISF has sufficient funds to cover Motor Pool charges and may need to come to your Board at a later date with a supplemental budget request.

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:

This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by managing our resources to ensure sustainability of services .

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

The Board may choose to not approve this donation. However, this is not recommended because it would require the department to provide maintenance and insurance that can be more efficiently and economically provided by County Motor Pool and Risk Management.
