RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the donation of one (1) Brush Cutter to Heavy Equipment for capitalizations, maintenance and insurance purposes.

DISCUSSION:
Solid Waste requested the purchase of one (1) Brush Cutter for use at Table Bluff Landfill. Purchase of the equipment was included in the fiscal year (FY) 2020-21county budget, budget unit 3691-438. For the purposes of capitalization, maintenance and insurance, Solid Waste would like to donate the equipment to Heavy Equipment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Expenditure appropriation for this equipment was included in the approved FY 2020-21 budget for Solid Waste, budget unit 3691-438. There is no anticipated impact to the county General Fund.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board may choose to not approve this donation; however, Solid Waste does not recommend this alternative because it requires the division to make arrangements for maintenance and insurance that can be more efficiently and economically provided by Heavy Equipment and Risk Management.
