RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the closure of the Garberville Branch Library beginning Sept. 8, 2020, to facilitate the move to its temporary location at 727 Cedar St., Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) while the new Garberville Mini Campus Complex is being constructed; and
2. Approve the proposed modified open hours schedule for the Garberville Library, as well as the change in schedule for the Bookmobile. (See Attachment I)

DISCUSSION:
The Garberville Library will be moving to its temporary location at 727 Cedar St. (DHHS facility), at no cost to the Library until the construction is complete for the new library in the Garberville Mini Campus Complex. The Garberville Library's last day of operation in its existing location is Sept. 4, 2020. The Library needs to move its resources to its temporary location and plans to do so Sept. 8, 2020, through Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020. On Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 the existing site of the Library will be handed over to the contractor to begin demolition and construction of the new Garberville Mini Campus Complex.
The Garberville Library will be changing its open hour schedule to five days per week to accommodate DHHS public service hours (See Attachment I). Library services will open at the DHHS site on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at 5 p.m. The Bookmobile schedule will add a stop in Garberville the first four Thursdays of each month starting Thursday, Sept.17, 2020.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Approval of this item will have minimal impact associated with staff time to implement.
