Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution approving a list of projects to be funded by California Senate Bill 1 - The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 - for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21.

DISCUSSION:
California Senate Bill 1 ("SB 1") - The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 - approved Fifty-Four Billion Dollars ($54,000,000,000.00) over the next decade to repair roads, freeways and bridges throughout the State of California. As part of the accountability guidelines for receiving SB 1 funds, local agencies must submit an approved list of proposed projects to the California Department of Transportation prior to receiving an apportionment of funds from the State Controller. The list of projects proposed to be financed with SB 1 funds shall include a description of each proposed project, a schedule for each project's completion and an estimated useful life of the improvements.

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works ("Public Works") estimates that the county's allocation of SB 1 funds for FY 2020-21 will be approximately Four Million Nine Hundred Seventy-Six Thousand Dollars ($4,976,000.00). The total cost of the projects proposed to be financed with SB 1 funds for FY 2020-21 exceeds the estimated allocation of SB l revenue. The reasons for including more projects than can be financed with the estimated allocation of SB 1 funds is to:
