DISCUSSION:
The Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services asks the Board of Supervisors to bring forth this proclamation highlighting education and awareness as being fundamental to saving lives in a tsunami event. The County of Humboldt and Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services will test the Humboldt Alert system by sending a test message to every registered contact point on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. This test of the Humboldt Alert system will coincide with a tsunami warning communications test being coordinated by the National Weather Service, Eureka, between 11 a.m. and noon on March 25, 2020.
