DISCUSSION:
Currently the proposed North Coast Special Management Area goose season is back-calculating available hunt days from the last day of duck season to the first available hunt day in October or November. The Humboldt County Fish and Game Advisory Commission has reviewed and considered this information at their monthly meeting and are recommending that the Board of Supervisors send a letter of support to the State Fish and Wildlife Commission asking that goose season be opened the same day as duck season which is the third Saturday in October. This would allow for better hunting and for reducing depredation on agricultural land while protecting the geese during breeding season.
