RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the bid proposals received for Storm Damage Repairs to Murray Road (C3M020) at Post Mile (PM) 5.57;
2. Award the contract to Wallace Structures for the total amount of $224,510; and
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the project agreement upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance.

DISCUSSION:
On Dec. 16, 2019, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Clerk of the Board to advertise the above-referenced project for bids. On Jan. 7, 2020, the county received seven (7) bids for the project, and the results are attached (Attachment 1 - Bid Results).

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of Supervisors receive and file the bid proposals received for Storm Damage Repairs to Murray Road (C3M020) at PM 5.57. Public Works also recommends that the contract be awarded to Wallace Structures for the total amount of $224,510, and that the Chair of the Board be authorized to execute the project agreement upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This project is being funded by Federal Highway Administration Emergency Relief Funds Advance Construction (88.53 percent) and the Humboldt County Road Fund (11.47 percent). The engineer's cost estimate for the project is $242,790. Total project cost is estimated at $280,638.
