RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution which authorizes the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services - Mental Health Director, or a designee thereof, to accept funding made available through the California Department of Health Care Services' Whole Person Care Pilot Program; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return a fully executed certified copy of the attached resolution to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for submission to the California Department of Health Care Services.

DISCUSSION:
On Oct. 18, 2019, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) issued a letter regarding the provision of one-time start-up funding to counties that are not currently participating in the Whole Person Care Pilot Program based on the demonstration of interest and letters of support from local partners within each county. The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services - Mental Health (DHHS - Mental Health) submitted a Letter of Interest requesting an allocation of one-time Whole Person Care Pilot Program funding, along with letters of support from two local partners within Humboldt County, to DHCS on Nov. 25, 2019. On Dec. 26, 2019, DHCS awarded DHHS - Mental Health one-time Whole Person Care Pilot Program funding in the amount of $744,418.66, pending the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors' adoption of a resolution authorizing the acceptance of such funding.

Accordingly, DHHS - Mental Health recommends that the Board adopt the attached resolution authorizing the DHHS Mental Health Director, or designee thereof, to accept the Whole Pers...
