That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the presentation by Connie Beck, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Director.

DISCUSSION:
This presentation will provide the Board with an update on the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS)- Employment Training Division’s (ETD) Helping Humboldt: An Occupational Empowerment program, which began in 2018. Helping Humboldt currently provides immediate work opportunities to clients of General Relief and CalWORKs, with a focus on linking to participants to employment by addressing the multiple barriers of participants.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The presentation does not have a financial impact. Helping Humboldt impacts the General Fund by effectively linking General Relief clients to outside employment.
STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:
This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by supporting self reliance of citizens and protecting vulnerable populations.
