RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Review and modify as necessary the proposed Grand Jury responses from the Board of Supervisors (BOS) (Attachments 2, 4, 6, 9 and 11);
2. Review and modify as necessary the proposed Grand Jury responses from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Public Works Department (Attachments 7 and 13);
3. Approve the documents, as may be modified, as the response;
4. Receive reports, as a courtesy, from the Auditor Controller and Treasurer-Tax Collector (Attachments 14 and 15);
5. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within five working days, to submit the final response with an accompanying Board Order to the 2018-19 Grand Jury and the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court; and
6. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within five working days, to submit two copies of all responses to the County Clerk/Recorder, one of which will be forwarded to the State Archivist, together with a copy of the original report.

DISCUSSION:
The Grand Jury investigates and reports on the operations, accounts, and records of the officers, departments, or functions of the county. The county thanks the Grand Jury for their hard work and efforts that they have put forth in their 2018-19 Grand Jury reports.
The Grand Jury has submitted five reports to the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court. Each department head or agency mentioned in the report is required to respond. The reports and responding agencies are as follows:
* "Like, Home... There's No Place" (Attachment 1). The Grand Jury has requested responses from the Board of Supervisors and the Eureka City Council.
* "Here We Go Again" (Attachment 3). The Grand Jury has requested a response from the Board of Supervisors.
