RECOMMENDATIONS:Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Waive the requirements of the Humboldt County Nuclear-Free Ordinance with regard to the attached memorandum of understanding with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services;
2. Approve, and authorize the Information Technology Director, or a designee thereof, to execute, the attached memorandum of understanding with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services regarding participation in information sharing activities with the California Cyber Security Integration Center; and
3. Authorize the Information Technology Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all future amendments to, and any other agreements and/or documents that are necessary to effectuate, the attached memorandum of understanding with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services after review and approval by County Counsel and Risk Management.

DISCUSSION:
The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 encourages the sharing of "cybersecurity threat information with private entities, non-federal government agencies, state, tribal, and local governments, the public and entities under threats," in order to reduce the likelihood and severity of cyber incidents that may significantly compromise the security and resilience of public and/or private sector information and communications technologies.
