RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors:

1.                     Accept the resignation of Lisa DeMatteo; and

2.                     Appoint Kelly Barns to the position of Director of Human Resources on an interim basis, effective July 29, 2019, and continuing until appointment of a permanent Director of Human Resources is made, or other solution is identified.

DISCUSSION:

Lisa DeMatteo is no longer working as the county’s Director of Human Resources.  At this time staff recommends accepting her resignation and that the Assistant Director of Human Resources Kelly Barns be appointed to the position on an interim basis and continuing until a permanent appointment is made, or other solution is identified.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The salary for the Director of Human Resources is currently budgeted in Risk Management Administration (3520-359) for fiscal year 2019-20.  The current salary for the Director of Human Resources at Step 1A is $12,631 per month.

This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by investing in county employees .

None.

 

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:                     

The Board could decline to appoint Ms. Barns and select another individual as Interim Director of Human Resources.
