Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Allocate 1.0 FTE Juvenile Corrections Facility Manager to Juvenile Hall (1100-234) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 effective July 1, 2018.

DISCUSSION:
During the Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget adoption process the position for Juvenile Corrections Facility Manager was inadvertently left off the position allocation table. The position had been included in the 1100-234 (Juvenile Hall) budget unit for many years, and the Probation Department funded that position in FY 2018-19. Allocating this position will avoid ongoing conflicts with position control reconciliation, and will not affect the General Fund.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The salary and benefits costs for the Juvenile Corrections Facility Manager (Step E) is $114,213.
This position was funded by budget unit 1100-234 Juvenile Hall in FY 2018-19. Therefore, this action will not impact the General Fund.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board could choose not to allocate the Juvenile Corrections Facility Manager. However, this is not recommended as the position was funded in FY 2018-19, and if not allocated could prevent Juvenile Hall from filling that position as it has been vacated since budget adoption.
