RECOMMENDATION(S):

DISCUSSION:

Mark Howell has been working as an extra-help employee during the current fiscal year. As of April 17, 2019 Mark had reached 848 hours out of the maximum 960 hours. Mark will use the hours remaining as of May 6, 2019. The Treasurer-Tax Collector is requesting an extension of hours through June 15, 2019 at which time it is anticipated that a candidate will be selected to fill one of the currently vacant and funded full-time positions.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The estimated salary and benefit cost for this requested extension of extra-help is $3, 418. There are currently significant salary savings from unfilled vacant positions in Revenue Recovery which are sufficient to cover Mr. Howell’s extension. There will be no impact to the General Fund.

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:

This action supports your Board’s Strategic Framework by providing community-appropriate levels of service .

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

The Board could choose not to approve this request however it is not recommended as the work Mr. Howell performs as a Revenue Recovery Collector generates revenue for the County and Court.
