RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached legal services agreement with Water and Power Law Group PC; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return two (2) original executed copies of the attached legal services agreement with Water and Power Law Group PC to the Department of Public Works - Environmental Services for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
On February 9, 2016, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved a legal services agreement with Water and Power Law Group PC regarding the provision of legal consultation services pertaining to the county's water delivery contract with the Bureau of Reclamation for annual releases from the Trinity Reservoir. The Board subsequently approved amendments which adjusted the scope of services and fee estimate of the original agreement on April 25, 2017, and February 13, 2018. The attached legal services agreement supersedes the February 2016 agreement as amended.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Any and all legal assistance provided pursuant to the terms and conditions of the attached legal services agreement with Water and Power Law Group PC shall be compensated at various hourly rates ranging from Seventy-Five Dollars ($75.00) per hour to Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per hour. The estimated cost for such services is Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00) for the period of May 8, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Approval of the attached legal services agreement with Water and Power Law Group PC will not impact the Humboldt County General Fund.
