DISCUSSION:
The Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation is a band of Wintu Indians who have called Trinity County their home for many decades. The tribe has been seeking Federal Recognition for many years and is seeking support from other local tribes and communities. The Trinity County Board of Supervisors took action in support of the Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation’s petition for Federal Recognition, at their March 19, 2019 meeting and the tribe is now requesting support from Humboldt County.
