DISCUSSION:
The Blue Lake Rancheria Tribe is applying for funding through CTAS to be able to fund an additional full-time, cross-deputized police officer for the Tribal Police Department. With the increase of drug trafficking throughout Humboldt County and the Blue Lake Rancheria, the addition of a full-time officer would further enhance law enforcements ability to provide 24/7 coverage on the Rancheria and adjacent jurisdictions.
In addition, Humboldt County Sheriff, William Honsal has sent a letter to CTAS in full support of the Blue Lake Rancheria’s funding request.
