Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the donation of one (1) Ford Taurus Sedan, one (1) Chevy Malibu Sedan, five (5) Ford F-150 Trucks to the County Motor Pool for capitalization, maintenance and insurance purposes.

DISCUSSION:
The County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requested the purchase of one (1) Ford Taurus Sedan, one (1) Chevy Malibu Sedan, and five (5) Ford F-150 Trucks. Purchase of the vehicles were included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 County Budget, budget units 1160-511, 1170-424 and 1175-400. The FY 2017-18 County Budget was adopted by your Board on June 27, 2017 (item C-11). For the purposes of capitalization, maintenance, and insurance, DHHS would like to donate the vehicles to County Motor Pool.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Expenditure appropriation for the vehicles and County Motor Pool costs were included in the approved FY 2017-18 budget for DHHS, budget units 1160-511, 1170-424 and 1175-400. There is no anticipated County General Fund impact.
The donation of the vehicles supports the Board's Strategic Framework by managing resources to ensure the sustainability of services that protect vulnerable populations.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board can choose to not approve this donation; however DHHS does not recommend this alternative because it requires the department to make arrangements for maintenance and insurance that can be more efficiently and economically provided by County Motor Pool and Risk Management.
