RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt Ordinance No. _______, amending Chapter 3 of Division 1 of Title II of the Humboldt County Code relating to compensation of the Board of Supervisors; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within fifteen (15) days after adoption, to publish a post-adoption summary of the ordinance with the names of the Supervisors voting for and against the ordinance, and direct the clerk to post in the office of the Clerk of the Board a certified copy of the full text of the ordinance.

DISCUSSION:
On December 18, 2018, your Board introduced the attached ordinance by title, waived the first reading thereof and scheduled for adoption on January 8, 2019. This agenda item brings forth the proposed ordinance for your adoption.

Consistent with the agreements reached with all other county employee bargaining units and employee groups, the proposed ordinance would make the following adjustments to the compensation level for Board of Supervisor members: a 2% increase upon the effective date of the ordinance, a 2% increase effective the first full pay period in January 2020; compensation based on 40 hours per week; and participation in the Wellness Reimbursement Program.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Estimated General Fund cost increases for salaries in fiscal year 2018-19 would be approximately $33,468, with $29,096 of the total attributed to the adjustment to accurately reflect the correct weekly schedule; estimated General Fund cost increases for salaries in fiscal year 2019-2020 would be approximately $9,512.
