RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution which authorizes the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services Director, or a designee thereof, to apply for and accept, if awarded, funding made available through the California Department of Housing and Community Development's No Place Like Home Program; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return a fully executed certified copy of the attached resolution to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for submission to the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

DISCUSSION:
On October 15, 2018, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the first round of competitive funding made available through the No Place Like Home (NPLH) Program. With a population under Two Hundred Thousand (200,000) residents, the County of Humboldt is defined as one of thirty-one (31) small counties by the NOFA. HCD will release at least three (3) additional NOFAs, with each round issued no later than one (1) year after the issuance of award letters under each prior funding round. Following the first four (4) funding rounds, additional funding rounds will occur annually until any remaining funds have been exhausted. Award announcements for the first round of competitive NPLH funding are expected to be made in June, 2019.
