RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file this report; and
2. Appoint Glenn Ziemer as the District 1 representative for a term expiring January 20, 2023.

DISCUSSION:
Vacancies are occurring on the Measure Z Citizens' Advisory Committee due to the resignation of Jonathan Flyer who represents District 1, Mike Newman who represents District 4, John McFarland who serves as an Alternate and Brian Anderson who represents the Fire Chief's Association.

Supervisor Bohn wishes to appoint Glenn Ziemer as the District 1 representative due to the resignation of Jonathan Flyer. The term of this position expires on January 20, 2019. Supervisor Bohn would like to continue this appointment through the following term ending January 20, 2023. Accordingly, this will vacate an additional Alternate position and allow for noticing so that the position may be filled.

A Notice of Vacancy has been posted pursuant to California Government Code Section 54974. Staff will return on January 22, 2019 to finalize the appointments for District 4, two Alternates, and the Fire Chiefs' Representative.

Unless the Clerk of the Board is notified, not more than three nor more than seven days subsequent to the date of this meeting, of a desire to calendar this matter for further discussion, any Board member may bring forward an item to appoint any qualified person to fill this vacancy. Under the terms of the Maddy Act, the soonest date on which an appointment may occur is January 15, 2019.
